In a poignant farewell, distinguished politicians gathered in Ogbona, Etsako Central Local Government Area, to pay their last respects to Daniel Orbih, the former Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-South region. The funeral service, held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, drew notable figures such as Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, all of whom shared their memories and tributes to Orbih's impactful life.

During the service, Governor Okpebholo delivered an emotional address, calling on Nigerians, especially those in leadership positions, to embrace a life of selflessness and service. He lamented the passage of time and the inevitability of death, using Orbih's life as a reminder of the urgency to contribute positively to society. “This is my second time coming to this Church. The first time I came here was to celebrate with Chief Dan Osi Orbih. I said to him, we will be coming here like this in the next eight years to celebrate your birthday but today we are here for a different purpose,” he reflected.

In his tribute, the governor expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Orbih, stating, “Today, it has dawned on me that there is nothing in life; here lies in the casket the remains of Chief Dan Osi Orbih and he can’t stand up or walk anymore.” His words resonated with many attendees, highlighting the fragility of life and the importance of making meaningful contributions while one has the chance.

The gathering not only served as a tribute to Orbih's legacy within the PDP but also underscored the unity among Edo State's political leaders in times of sorrow. As they paid their respects, the attendees reflected on Orbih's commitment to public service and his enduring influence on the political landscape of the region.
