The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has approved an extensive ₦85 billion capital allocation to rehabilitate arterial expressways, dualise critical satellite corridors, and install smart solar grids across the nation's capital.
Addressing senior municipal directors at the FCTA Secretariat in Area 11 Garki, officials confirmed that the package will expedite the completion of the Outer Northern Expressway, connect the Nyanya-Karu transit axis directly into the Central Business District, and upgrade civic water supply infrastructure.
"Abuja was conceived as a model capital for Africa. This renewal program addresses historical transit bottlenecks, enhances nighttime security with smart solar installations, and cements our status as a world-class administrative hub," the administration stated.
Work is slated to commence immediately across Phase 2 and Phase 3 developmental districts, with dedicated oversight committees established to ensure strict adherence to engineering milestones.
