Hydrogen Payment Services Company Limited has marked a significant milestone in educational innovation with the completion of its first AI4Learning Initiative, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. This initiative is designed to introduce secondary school educators and students to the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing both teaching and learning processes.
The AI4Learning Initiative featured distinct learning programs tailored for teachers and students, hosted at two prominent institutions in Lagos. The Teachers Learning Programme took place at Victoria Island Senior Secondary School, while the Students Learning Programme was conducted at Kuramo Senior College. Both venues served as platforms for participants to delve into the practical applications of AI, emphasizing its role as a supportive tool rather than a substitute for human judgment.
During the sessions, educators and students explored various methodologies to leverage AI for a more seamless and efficient educational experience. Participants engaged in discussions about the importance of verifying information, safeguarding personal data, and maintaining accountability in decisions influenced by AI technologies. Fiyinfoluwa Olorunsola, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Hydrogen Payment Services, articulated the program's vision, stating, “AI4Learning reflects our belief that technology creates greater impact when people have the knowledge and confidence to use it well.”
This initiative not only focuses on technology but also highlights the responsibility that comes with its use. By fostering an environment where AI can augment human capability, Hydrogen aims to create a future where educators and students alike can harness technology to enrich their educational journeys.
