Joint Operation Leads to Arrest of Five Suspected Drug Dealers in Sapele

In a significant crackdown on drug-related activities, troops from the 90 Amphibious Battalion, in collaboration with officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), arrested five suspected drug dealers in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State. This operation took place during a cordon-and-search procedure executed in the Ugberukoko Community on September 4 at approximately 10:10 PM.

The joint operation was initiated following reliable intelligence regarding ongoing drug-peddling activities in the area, prompting security operatives to act swiftly. During the raid, authorities successfully apprehended the suspects and seized six bottles containing a substance believed to be codeine, a controlled substance often abused for its psychoactive effects.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared details of the operation on X, emphasizing the collaborative effort between military and law enforcement agencies in tackling the menace of drug trafficking. “The suspects and the recovered items have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and necessary legal action,” Makama stated.
