In a heartfelt message posted on social media, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the brother of detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, celebrated his brother's 58th birthday, referring to him as an "unbreakable lion". Emmanuel emphasized that despite Kanu's incarceration, he remains undefeated and continues to challenge his conviction in court.
"Happy Birthday to an unbreakable lion, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. They jailed you with a dead law, yet you are still undefeated, still forcing the government to face appeal," he wrote. This statement underscores the belief that Kanu's spirit and influence persist, even from behind bars.
Kanu, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, has been a central figure in the movement advocating for the secession of Biafra from Nigeria.
