NDLEA Foils Drug Trafficking Attempt Worth N3.4 Billion, Arrests Impersonator

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, seizing illegal substances valued at N3.4 billion. This operation not only highlights the agency's commitment to curbing drug-related crimes but also exposes the audacity of criminals who attempt to exploit law enforcement protocols.

Among the individuals arrested during this operation is a suspect identified as Godwin Emeka, who had been impersonating a Deputy Superintendent of Police. By using a forged identification card, Emeka was able to navigate through police checkpoints, facilitating the transport of illicit drugs without drawing attention.

“Investigation established that the suspect had long paraded himself as a Deputy Superintendent of Police, using a forged ID card to escape scrutiny at checkpoints while transporting illicit consignments,”

In addition to the arrest of the fake officer, the NDLEA has also apprehended a mechanic who was allegedly involved in the drug trade.
