The Oyo State Government has voiced its serious concern regarding the abduction of several corps members originally from the state, who were kidnapped in Imo State. The incident has drawn condemnation from state officials, who described it as both distressing and reprehensible, emphasizing the need for immediate action to secure the victims' safe release.
In a statement issued on Friday by the state Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the government expressed its heartfelt solidarity with the affected families. "We are fully committed to securing the safe release of our children and will stop at nothing to ensure that they are reunited with their families without harm," the statement read.
Governor Seyi Makinde has directed that all necessary resources be mobilized to support rescue efforts, reiterating that the safety and well-being of Oyo State indigenes, both within and beyond its borders, is a paramount concern. The government is actively coordinating with relevant security agencies, the Imo State Government, and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) leadership to ensure a swift and effective response to this troubling incident.
