In a significant political mobilization effort, former militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, alongside Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has called on the people of Ekiti to ensure a landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming 2027 presidential elections. The event, marked by the unveiling of 25 campaign vehicles, seeks to galvanize support and enhance the logistics of the campaign in the region.
Tompolo, speaking at the unveiling ceremony, underscored Tinubu's reputation as a respected and beloved son of the Yoruba nation. He emphasized the historical and cultural ties that bind the Yoruba people to Tinubu, urging voters in Ekiti to rally behind him as a demonstration of unity and political strength.
“As a people, we must come together to support our own. Tinubu has shown commitment to the development of our region and deserves our votes. A massive turnout in the elections will not only affirm our loyalty but also solidify our place in Nigeria's political landscape,” Tompolo remarked.
Governor Oyebanji echoed Tompolo's sentiments, highlighting the importance of strategic voting as a means to secure a brighter future for Ekiti and the Yoruba people. “We have a duty to ensure that our voices are heard through the ballot. Supporting President Tinubu is not just about him; it’s about the progress and prosperity of our people,” he stated.
The unveiling of the vehicles, designed to enhance campaign outreach, reflects a strategic approach to mobilizing support within the state. Both leaders aim to inspire confidence among voters that their collective efforts will lead to a successful election outcome in 2027.
