The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested two men and a woman who allegedly belonged to a visa racketeering syndicate during a sting operation in the Nyanya area of Abuja.

The police detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department of the command arrested the syndicate after a tip-off at a plaza in the Nyanya area.

According to a release on Wednesday, the suspects, Eze Francisca, Onuh Chika, and Markus Innocent were photocopying some forged documents when they were apprehended.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, said the suspects would be arraigned in court at the conclusion of the investigation.

He said, “Police detectives have busted and arrested three members of a visa racketeering syndicate operating in the FCT. The suspects were arrested at a plaza in Nyanya during a sting operation carried out on February 6, 2020, while photocopying some forged documents.

“The suspects were arrested in possession of the following forged documents, which were recovered as exhibits: medical certificate, bank statements, NYSC certificates, university transcripts and so on.

“The suspects arrested are; Eze Francisca, female and 34; Onuh Chika, male and 36 years old; and Markus Innocent, male and the business center operator, aged 24. They will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.”
